Hertford Regional College; Broxbourne & Ware
Hertford Regional College is one of the largest further
education colleges in Hertfordshire based over two sites, in
Broxbourne and Ware. With around 12,000 students and
employing 900 staff, its results make it the best performing
college in the county.
The overall project involved the redevelopment of the two
sites, seven miles apart, at Broxbourne and Ware to provide
new, purpose built accommodation for the delivery of its
curriculum from September 2009/10. C&C was appointed
as the Catering Equipment Sub-Contractor to the Main
Design & Build Contractor, Morgan Ashurst to develop and
implement the demanding catering equipment supply and
installation packages at both sites, designed and specified
by A&E Partnership.
An important element was managing the impact of the
release dates for staggered college migration programme
between different buildings for existing equipment designated
for re-use in the new kitchens, and storing, restoring and
re-installing the equipment. This was all achieved with
minimum disruption to the delivery of the curriculum.
