Awards
C&C were the winners of the Outstanding Customer Service award at the recent CEDA Grand Prix Awards evening. Over 200 people were in attendance to see the award presented at the Forest Pines Golf and Country Club in Lincolnshire.
It is the 4th year running that C&C has been presented with various awards at the CEDA Conference.
C&C were awarded the Outstanding Customer Service award for the project completed at The Connaught, Mayfair, London. The initial £17,500 order quickly turned into a £300,000 contract due to C&C's expertise and Customer Service and left the Catering team at The Connaught very happy with the work completed.
C&C were also awarded 2nd place in the Cost Sector Large Project for the project at Reed Smith Richards Butler, where a complex kitchen installation was necessary on the 31st, 32nd and 33rd floors of the Broadgate Tower, London.

C&C's Managing Director and the current CEDA* Chairman Peter Kitchin was proud to be able to present the prestigious CEDA Industry Personality Award 2009 to his father John Kitchin.
After spending most of his life in the catering industry, including a spell as Chairman of the HCA (Hospital Caterers Association), John was recognised for his contribution to the industry and remains a consultant to the family business he founded in 1981.
It was an emotional night at Carden Park Hotel on 24th April when the surprise presentation was made, with many a tear shed both on the stage and in the audience. John Kitchin received a standing ovation from the 200 plus guests which included his wife Enid, daughter-in-law Cathy, and three of his seven grandchildren Paul, Jessica and Matthew.
Peter described how lucky his father had been along the way, telling the story of how, during the war, his school was bombed one lunch time resulting in the loss of 38 children and six teachers. John's mother was unwell and had asked him to come home for lunch the day the attack took place.
“It was a wonderful moment for me,” Peter said. “I’m so lucky to have worked with him - and enjoyed every day - for the last 28 years.”

C&C were runners-up in the 2009 CEDA Grand Prix Awards Profit Sector Large Project category for designing, supplying and installing a kitchen and foodservice counters in the striking new £8.3m visitors' centre, Hafod Eryri, at the head of the Snowdon Mountain Railway above Llanberis.
As the UK's highest catering scheme, Hafod Eryri's kitchens and granite counters are specified to a demanding standard to compensate for the extreme weather conditions.
C&C’s Keith Hartharn also received the Individual Merit Award for his part in project managing the challenging Snowdon scheme, in a remote, inhospitable site and often in hostile weather conditions. “If we can put a restaurant at the top of Snowdon,” Keith laughed, “we can put one anywhere!”

For the second year in a row C&C Catering Equipment Ltd won a CEDA Grand Prix Award with a winning restaurant installation at Twelve.
The restaurant was extended and redesigned over a four month rebuilding programme, with the restaurant remaining open except for a three-week period, and we had a two week installation period, during which last minute wall alterations in key areas meant that elements of the fabrication had to be measured, manufactured, delivered and installed over a two day period at the end of the job. This was achieved without delaying the build programme.
