H.R.H The Prince of Wales Visits Saighton
01/05/2009
HRH The Prince of Wales visit to The Eaton Estate followed stops earlier in the day at the Vauxhall Plant in Ellesmere Port and a community based project at Blacon in Chester.
The Prince of Wales visit to Eaton centred on the village of Aldford. He looked around a recently renovated office building where he unveiled a commemorative stone to mark the occasion of his visit and viewed pictures of recently completed conversions schemes which have included Green initiatives, C&C's Smithy Farm Buildings being one such example.
The remainder of his tour of the village included a stop at the Estates Maintenance yard where he met the directly employed maintenance and forestry teams and a walk through over to the village hall where a group of 60 people were gathered for tea. John Kitchin was one of the guests who sat on a table of those who run businesses out of buildings on the Eaton Estate.
